How Can
Covenant Fellowship Help with Budget Pressure on Families?
It is no
secret that the budget pressure is on due to rising gas and food prices. The
stress on families and working Americans seems to be growing. This financial
reality can impact the way that families interact with church, and increase
pressures on marriage and parenting. Our church has partnered with Angel
Food Ministries to provide practical help. Since Angel Food is not just for
those who traditionally come to food pantries, it can offer a significant
budget boost to any family.
The budget equation is
simple; every box of Angel Food cuts the food budget by 30 dollars or more.
When you add
one of the special boxes, a family can further reduce the impact of rising
food and gasoline through additional food savings. Angel Food is for anyone
who needs it.
Here’s how it works. Starting with the first of each month, we take
orders here at the church after our regularly scheduled services and also
have someone available on Mondays and Fridays from 3-6 pm. Stop by and
place your order; we accept cash, check, money order and food stamps. You
must purchase at least one regular box for $30.00. Once you have purchased
that you may purchase as many specials as you would like or none at all.
It’s up to you. A different menu is posted every month along with the order
deadline and the delivery date.
On the delivery date you show up at the new church
location between 9 and 10 am to
pick up your order. The new church is located at 109 Gate City Highway.
This is the former Western Steer Steakhouse and more recently the Panda
Buffet near Bristol Mall. To get to the new location from I-81 take exit 1A
and turn left at the third traffic light. You will turn into our parking
lot. You will need to bring a box, cooler, or basket (a
laundry basket works nicely) for each regular unit you order. The specials
come prepackaged in their own box. Due to the fact that we do not have the
facilities to store your food you must make arrangements to have it picked
up on distribution Saturday. Your purchase is for the distribution date
only. No refunds or credit for the following months will be given.
Unclaimed food will be donated to others in need if not picked up at the
designated time. You may also place orders online with credit or debit
cards. Click the "order online" link below and you will be redirected to the
Angel Food Ministry website where you will need to click their "order
online" link. Follow their directions and submit your order.
